Product Photography in Sheffield
Dashing around the country photographing on the ground or in the air with my drones is brilliant and I love it but sometimes it is really good to get a project that keeps you in the studio.
Studio photography comes with its own challenges and none more so than when you get products to shoot that are high gloss or have very reflective surfaces. I think I had the ultimate challenge last week when James Marvin of IH Dryers click here to go to their website called me saying they had 31 industrial hand dryers to be photographed from lots of different angles and could I help?
We agreed a day and time for James to drop the boxes off and suddenly one morning we had boxes of all shapes and sizes everywhere.
White dryers and brushed steel ones were relatively easy to photograph as they didnt reflect the foreground (Me!!) at all but when it came to the polished steel versions that was a very different kettle of fish.
We had to make a purpose built light tent from photography paper and white cloth. It had to be very big so that the photographs taken looked nice and sharp. It took a good couple of hours to erect the light tent and position the studio lights before we even started to take photographs.
Each photograph had to be cut out in Photoshop to produce a crisp white finish so that the images could be inserted into a variety of backgrounds as necessary
