I’m a commercial photographer based on the outskirts of Sheffield. I was recently contacted by Parcelhub Courier Services to photograph their depot, vans and staff in Dinnington. This site is a satellite depot to Parcelhub’s main offices in Nottingham.
The brief for the shoot was that is should be relaxed, professional yet bring out the personalities of the staff too. Photographing guys is always a challenge as we as a species don’t know what to do with our hands and don’t really like being in front of the camera but with a bit of coaching and some micky taking by their workmates I managed to get a series of shots that Parcelhub liked immediately.
For me, being a commercial photographer is all about exceeding your clients’ expectations and I’m a big believer in involving the client and showing them the shots as we go along. By doing this I come away with the photographs the client has seen and approved and not with a load of photos of what I think the client wanted. This ethos is also carried over into the weddings, portraits, product and aerial photography we do too.
The images were processed and uploaded within 24 hours of the shoot and the client informed.
I received an email back from Simon Wright the Marketing Manager who commented “Thanks Nick, Cracking photos, very pleased with them”
