We are delighted to announce that Footprint Photography have been approved as the official photographer for the Master Cutler’s Challenge 2014. The challenge is one of the largest fundraising events for charity in the region and this year’s proceeds will be split between Whirlow Hall Farm Trust and Sheffield Hospitals Charity.
As wedding photographers in Sheffield, we obviously have plenty of contacts in the local area and keep in touch with many of them on the professional social networking site LinkedIn. We heard about the Master Cutler Challenge some months ago having been sent a message via LinkedIn, and accepted an invitation to come to the pre launch event. We knew there and then that we wanted to become more involved!
As readers of our blog will know, we are a husband and wife team, and the recognised photographers for Bluebell Wood Hospice. We also visit the hospice regularly in order to help out, and we offer our services free of charge as a commitment to supporting this very worthwhile charity. We both see the work being done by the team at Whirlow Farm and the Master Cutler Challenge in much the same way.
Free Photography Service for the Master Cutler Challenge
We spoke with Sarah at the pre-launch event about forming a team to raise money and to discuss photography. Sarah very kindly came to our BNI networking event to give a presentation, and everyone agreed that we should do something to help. We never expected to get the call from Sarah Kerrigan regarding the photography because we assumed that the position of official photographer had been filled.
But a few weeks ago Sarah asked us for a quote, and it only seemed right to offer our services for free. She put our proposal to the committee and we recently heard that we had been approved as the official photographers for the Master Cutler Challenge. Obviously we are delighted!
Fundraising for Whirlow Hall Farm Trust and Sheffield Hospitals Charity
The challenge itself works by giving £100 to companies, groups, associations, schools and individuals, and then allowing them 6 months to use their creativity, teamwork and entrepreneurial skills to turn the money into as much as they can. It really is a great opportunity to make a difference in the local community, as the money goes towards improving care for premature and sick babies. In the past, the humble amount of £100 has incredibly been turned into as much as £200,000!
